GREG'S HARLEY

When the Kiwi Engineering owner decided that he wanted to modify his own Harley, one thing had to be clear. It had to be unique! To that end there are several pictures here of his creation. The engine combination was heavily computer simulated, and when things sorted out, it was time for the fabrication. Several design criteria were desired from the start. Two front cylinder heads were used for individual runners. Engine management was desired instead of carburetors. A Motec system was fitted with the custom welded cylinder heads, intake runners, and throttle bodies. Greg built the custom exhaust and these parts were mated to custom camshafts. The net result was an 80 inch engine which makes in excess of 100 horsepower and 100 foot pounds of torque on pump gas along with an extremely useable powerband. Greg only wishes that he had some time to actually ride this and try some additional tuning adjustments to get additional power from the mix of parts. The bottom photo shows the business end of an additional oil scavenge pump which he designed and fabricated to add to the current engine configuration. These types of projects and implementations add to the fun that a compulsive "gear head" can never get enough of.
